The Accelerator Physicist will direct the procurement, installation acceptance testing, improvements, and troubleshooting guidance development of the electron beam accelerator and any future accelerator for commercial production of radioisotopes. This will also include any design, procurement, quality control, alignment, and commissioning activities of the entire beam line. The Accelerator Physics will interface with NorthStar Medical Radioisotope product engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations, and facilities and along with third party vendors.
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field and minimum six (6) years’ experience in the development or maintenance of particle accelerator related equipment. Familiarity with basic accelerator subsystems (vacuum, RF, magnets, etc), proven ability to use commercially available software for simulation of physical processes in particle accelerators, and strong understanding of monitoring, shielding, and safety aspects of work with ionizing radiation is also required.
NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes is headquartered in Beloit, Wis. This location is our primary manufacturing site and accommodates all of our corporate functions. Beloit has small city charm, with a lively and renovated downtown, yet is also close to cities such as Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Rockford.
