Position

The Director, Business Development, CDMO/CMO holds a critical role in managing business development-related responsibilities for NorthStar’s CDMO/CMO business including producing, reviewing, and negotiating all associated contracts and agreements. This role is responsible for working with prospects and sponsors to understand their requests and needs, while including pricing and timeline considerations, and working seamlessly with internal stakeholders as liaisons for the sponsors. The Director, Business Development, CDMO/CMO is accountable for developing and replying to proposals and securing logistical and contractual details, as well as demonstrating the financial value for NorthStar while displaying the ability to identify creative commercial solutions in order to deliver financial results.  

 

Ability and willingness to travel, both domestically and internationally, up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the negotiation and implementation of contracts and agreements for new and existing customer programs to ensure delivery of expected value to both the customer and the company, achieving short and long-term financial targets. 
  • Evaluate and reply in a timely manner to RFI/RFPs and gain a technical understanding of the request in order to develop an appropriate scope of work as well as ensure the requests are within NorthStar’s capabilities.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders on a harmonized strategy to accomplish deliverables, plan for demand, resolve customer issues, and drive results.
  • Evaluate, define, and translate proposals into a project scope and timeline, including costs and pricing based on information from sponsors, SMEs, and other team members.
  • Present proposal scope, operational model, timelines, and costing for sign-off and price setting.
  • Implement proposals, including any necessary revisions, to drive to contract signature.
  • Work with the NorthStar Management team to create and implement strategies to ensure business is secured and revenue goals are met. Review and revise high-level detailed proposal template language, costing models, staffing estimates, and standard timeline templates as needed in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a front-line representative of NorthStar at trade shows and other customer-related events.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other related discipline and ten (10) years of progressive pharmaceutical/health care sales experience, preferably in the nuclear diagnostic imaging or therapeutic sectors; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven business experience in both direct sales, marketing and/or Business to Business (B2B) environments. Demonstrated experience reviewing, managing, and negotiating contracts for CDMO/CMO.

Working Conditions

Physical demands may include, but not be limited to, specific vision abilities including near vision/acuity and visual color discrimination.

 

The work environment may include exposure to a heated/air-conditioned indoor office / manufacturing / cleanroom setting with adequate ventilation and lighting and outdoor environments with varying temperatures.  The noise level may vary from quiet to loud. Employees must be willing and able to wear various types of PPE, including, but not limited to, respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing, as required by the job to ensure safety in potentially hazardous conditions.  Specific cleanroom requirements include employees needing to inform leadership about any health condition that may have an adverse effect on products, as well as compliance with gowning protocols.  This means all jewelry, including physically attached items, must not interfere with the effectiveness of personal protective equipment.  In addition, all cosmetics, fragranced products (perfumes, aftershave, etc.), and nail products are prohibited, including clear nail polish, artificial nails, and nail extenders. 

 

The company is a radiopharmaceutical manufacturer and radiation may be present in manufacturing and laboratory areas. Employees may be required to be monitored using company provided dosimetry and bioassay testing.

Location

NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes is headquartered in Beloit, Wis. This location is our primary manufacturing site and accommodates all of our corporate functions. Beloit has small city charm, with a lively and renovated downtown, yet is also close to cities such as Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Rockford.

Beloit is a part of the larger South Central Wisconsin/Northern Illinois region, which offers residents and visitors alike a unique blend of urban opportunities and rural, natural beauty.
