Position

The Director of Supply Chain will oversee and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations, specializing in the unique requirements of the pharmaceutical and radiopharmaceutical sectors. This role focuses on the seamless movement of goods through advanced transportation, internal material handling, and rigorous SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) leadership. The successful candidate will ensure that time-sensitive, life-saving products reach their destinations safely, compliantly, and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies to ensure a reliable flow of products from manufacturing through to final delivery, maintaining strict adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
  • Direct all inbound and outbound transportation and logistics. Manage carrier relationships, optimize routing, and ensure the integrity of highly sensitive, time-critical, and temperature-controlled shipments (including radiopharmaceuticals).
  • Oversee internal material handling processes and warehouse management. Implement best practices for the safe receipt, storage, movement, and tracking of pharmaceutical materials, ensuring high levels of inventory accuracy and safety compliance.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maturation of the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. Synchronize demand forecasts with production capacity and inventory targets to align supply chain activities with financial goals.
  • Establish and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of logistics and material handling. Use data to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage network-wide inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing expiration risk—a critical factor for short-shelf-life radiopharmaceutical products.
  • Ensure all logistics and material handling activities comply with GMP, GDP, Import and Export Trade Compliance, and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. Develop robust contingency plans to maintain supply chain resilience during disruptions.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure integrated operational execution.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and professional growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain and Operations Management, Logistics, or other related discipline and ten (10) or more years of progressive supply chain experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five (5) or more years of managerial experience within the Pharmaceutical or Radiopharmaceutical Industry is required.

Proven track record of running complex transportation networks and implementing SIOP frameworks from the ground up. Deep knowledge of material handling equipment and warehouse management systems under GMP conditions.

Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or MBA preferred. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CPIM) are highly preferred.
